On the Gregorian calendar, Rosh Hashanah 2024 begins on the evening of Wednesday, October 2 and ends at sundown on Friday, October 4, 2024. This marks the Jewish New Year 5785.
Trivia: Following the Second Temple of Jerusalem's destruction, Rosh Hashanah changed from a one-day event to a two-day event due to the fact that it becomes too difficult to determine the date of the new moon.

The Salvation Army operates mobile feeding units, emergency disaster warehouses and other relief efforts. You can call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) to make a donation by phone, text STORM to 51555 or use the Salvation Army Hurricane Helene Relief webpage.
CARE is providing emergency cash assistance to help families in underserved communities who have been affected by Helene. The assistance aims to address their most urgent needs such as food, water, emergency housing and medication. Visit the CARE website for more information or to donate.
Americares has set up a donation page in response to Hurricane Helene. This organization focuses on urgent medical needs in the aftermath of a disaster, as well as long-term recovery projects.
