Today is TGIVF, which, we all know means "Thank God It's Veterans Friday!!!" So, we're going to talk about medals, not metals like the commodity, no medals "MEDALS", made with many of the same commodities, but with deeper meaning. And specifically the Medal Of Honor, the Congressional Gold Medal, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. We'll also be diving into the impeachment trial in Texas of Ken Paxton, some "scary" revelations there, the recent arrests of hundreds of additional J6 Patriots, 3 years after the event on petty charges, and any other news / updates you all have in the first hour.
Yesterday we did a deep dive into one of politics most famous, and, largely accurate sayings, "It's the ECONOMY, stupid..." And the space summary is in the nest as mentioned earlier. We covered so much, and I've included some great resources that I'll be happy to walk through in detail if anyone has questions on how to read some of those dashboards and reports that are published by agencies, we may not trust fully, but we have to have some kind of baseline, and their numbers are probably the best we're gonna get... But I digress, and just wanted to thank Esteban, Walter, Rob, Brian, Anita, Rokgodes, and all the others who stepped up and spoke, shared, and helped us all to leave the space with more knowledge, and, therefore, more power than when we entered it.”

P.R. “Medals, "M-E-D-A-L-S", not the kind that can be precious or held in a 401(k), but rather the kind that humans have given to one another as a token of respect and appreciation for thousands of years. I'll start today with a history of the USA's Medal of Honor, our Highest Military Honor.”

The Medal of Honor isthe highest military decoration in the United States
It is awarded to soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guardians, and coast guardsmen who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor. It was first authorized in 1861 for Sailors and Marines, and the following year for Soldiers as well. Since then, more than 3,400 Medals of Honor have been awarded to members of all DoD services and the Coast Guard. The President of the United States typically presents the Medal of Honor at a formal ceremony intended to represent the gratitude of the American people, with posthumous presentations made to the primary next of kin. The Medal of Honor is earned, not won, and recipients often bear a heavy burden as it symbolizes all who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Congressional Gold Medal is an award bestowed by the United States Congress, which is the highest civilian award in the country, alongside the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
A Congressional Gold Medal is designed by the United States Mint to specifically commemorate the person and achievement for which the medal is awarded. Medals are therefore different in appearance, and there is no standard design. Congressional Gold Medals are considered non-portable, meaning that they are not meant to be worn on a uniform or other clothing, but rather displayed.
“It is awarded to to individuals or a group, "who have performed an achievement that has an impact on American history and culture that is likely to be recognized as a major achievement in the recipient's field long after the achievement.” Congress by legislative action provides for the creation of each medal by passing a specific law to that effect. Thus, there are generally fewer gold medals than presidential medals. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement.”
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian award in the United States, given by the President of the United States to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
Originally established in 1945 by President Harry S. Truman to honor notable service during World War II, it was reintroduced by President John F. Kennedy in 1963. The award recognizes individuals who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors." The Medal of Honor is bestowed upon the Armed Forces Recipient by the President of the United States in Congress' name.
Orders of Chivalry were the next evolution of medals and honors for valor, bravery and heroism in service of country. And the start of these orders came with the establishment of the Knights Templar following the successful 1st crusade when the crusaders conquered pretty much the entirety of the holy land from the Abbasid Caliphate.

P.R.’s personal contribution: “From my Dad's Vietnam Veterans Association, part of today's inspiration, was his honoring the three medal of honor recipients from his regiment during the whole of the Vietnam War. At, of all places, in northern New Mexico is a chapel built by a family of a medal of honor recipient to honor all medal of honor recipients. And this 800 acre plot and the chapel on it, which is currently maintained by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Three medal of honor recipients from the regiment my father served in during the whole of the 6 years the regiment was present in Vietnam.
The Angel Fire Vietnam Veterans Memorial “In the 1960s, Victor Westphall (Doc) and his wife, Jeanne, purchased more than 800 acres of the Val Verde ranch near Angel Fire, NM, with the intention of building a resort complete with homes, a golf course, and ski slopes. Then on May 22, 1968, their eldest son, Lt. Victor David Westphall lll, was killed in an ambush in Con Thien, Vietnam just south of the DMZ. David Westphall was buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery in early June 1968. David’s mother, Jeanne, suggested using David’s life insurance money to build a chapel to honor the memory of their son and the fifteen men who died with him. Fueled by this inspiration, Doc drew out the initial sketches for the Chapel and submitted them to a local Santa Fe architect for final drafting. Construction of the Peace and Brotherhood Chapel began in September 1968. The vision for the Chapel soon expanded to commemorate the service and sacrifice of all Vietnam veterans. The Chapel was the first major memorial created to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War. It was recognized by the United States Congress as a “memorial of national significance” and served as inspiration for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The Angel Fire Vietnam Veterans Memorial is located at 34 Country Club Road, Angel Fire, New Mexico 87710, approximately 190 miles northeast of Albuquerque.”
