Editor’s note: You have heard of Taco Tuesday but Telephone Tuesday? There is a phenomenon where phone calls to businesses surge on the Tuesday after Labor Day in the United States. According to statistics, phone calls increase by about 34% on this day, compared to an average 16% increase on Mondays. The first recorded instance of the phenomenon dates back to the 19th century.

1667: Robert Hooke, a British Physicist invents the tin can telephone, also named the lovers’ phone.
2007: 340 years later, Steve Jobs and Apple release the first iPhone.
