“Good morning, it is time for the Tuesday, September 26, 2023 edition of the AM Grind. My name is Patrick Rafferty and I'm your host this morning on America Mission's Monday thru Friday morning X space. I'm grateful to Carol for helping out with co-hosting and for all of our loyal listeners and speakers.

Today I'm issuing a challenge, where we genuinely want some of you who are always listening to come up and speak. Spaces are a great place to prepare for when you must persuade a progressive liberal to come back to a place of sanity. So, please request a mic and we'll be liberal with time and patient as always.

Yesterday was our Monday Free for All, and it was an intense three hours of spirited debate, moments of darkness that ended in a burst of light. And then there was Red. Kidding, those discussions are why we're here.

So, for Taco Tuesday L'Internationale Version, we are going to be hitting some of our usual "neighborhoods" where geopolitical instability threatens our national security and way of life. Today I think we'll start with Africa, because it doesn't get enough play. Then obviously all roads lead to Ukraine, and I have an interesting parallel I would like you to consider.

To be honest, I did not get a whole lot of news yesterday, I'm busy playing the Peninsular War Scenario in War and Peace (Avalon Hill, 1971 version) with my Dad. So, if we want to start with just news from the room for 30 minutes, then we'll hop into our l'Internationale Taco's. And these, my friends, are not breakfast Taco's.”

Four things YOU need to know:

1. Keep an eye on central Africa where we have seen five coups in mineral rich nations in the past 3 years. And especially Eritrea, where we learned Amnesty International is recommending a change in government leadership.
   Africa: the 7 military coups over the last three years and
   Amnesty International is pushing regime change in Eritrea.

2. Why so much interest in Ukraine, we keep asking? Perhaps the lust for the Black Sea region is not the only point of interest. Ukraine has a lot of lithium as well in the Russian east of the country. [See our spending over time below.]
